Beekeeper Eric opens this learn, make and take workshop with an overview of products of the hive: propolis, beeswax, pollen, honey, royal jelly.

Next you will make:

POURED CANDLE

  • Preparing wax

  • Adding a wick

  • Pouring your candle

BASIC SALVE

  • Make a basic salve using essential oils and all natural ingredients.

  • Basic benefits of salve

  • Includes written recipe

BEESWAX WRAP

  • How to prepare the beeswax recipe

  • How to choose the right fabric and prepare it

  • How to use and wash your beeswax

Finish off the day with a tour of The Honeybee facility and an up close look at where Beeswax comes from and how we process it at Honeybee Centre.

Weather permitting, we will open up a beehive.

No creative experience necessary.

What to bring

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
Any specific fabrics you would like to turn into wraps. Fabrics should be lightweight with a tight weave. They should also be natural fibres such as cotton or linen. Please pre-wash before the workshop. If you do not have the fabric we will provide plain cotton pieces.
